Cookie and browser storage policy

1. Understanding browser storage

A cookie is a small text value saved by your browser for a website. The browser sends it with matching requests, subject to the cookie’s settings. For example, a preference cookie can record that you have already answered a consent prompt, so the website can recognise that answer on a later visit.

Local storage is another browser feature. Unlike a cookie, its contents are not automatically attached to requests. Our browser script reads a saved choice locally and uses it to decide whether to show the preference panel. Local storage has no built-in expiry: a value remains until you clear it or site code changes or removes it.

These choices belong to a particular browser profile and device. A choice on your laptop does not automatically apply to your phone. If you follow a link to an external gaming website, that website controls its own cookies and storage. Review its policy and controls separately.

2. Storage used by this site

The inventory below describes the preference entries used by our current consent controls. Both are provided by Aussie Gamefront on aussiegamefront.com. They record an accepted or rejected choice, rather than your name, email address or gaming activity. No optional tracking entries are included in this package.

The cookie applies across this site’s paths and uses the SameSite=Lax setting. Choosing again updates the saved values and renews the cookie’s duration. These entries help remember a rejection as well as an acceptance; rejecting optional storage therefore still saves the preference needed to respect that answer.

3. Choose and change your preference

On a fresh visit, the preference panel offers Accept and Reject optional. Either button records your choice and closes the panel. When local storage is available, that choice remains after a reload and while you follow links between pages on this site.

To reconsider, use Cookie settings in the footer of any page. This reopens the existing panel. Choose Reject optional to withdraw a previous acceptance, or Accept to replace a rejection. The controls update the same preference entries; you do not need to create an account or contact us first.

Manage preferences opens further information inside that panel. At present, neither choice switches on optional trackers. Changing your preference affects future browser behaviour and does not delete correspondence you have already sent. For information about messages and personal information, read our privacy policy.

4. Browser controls

You can remove the saved preference directly through your browser. Menu names differ between browsers and versions, but the usual steps are:

1. Open browser settings and look for Privacy, Site data or Cookies and site permissions.
2. Find aussiegamefront.com in the list of stored website data.
3. Remove its cookies and local storage, then reload this site.

Clearing cookies alone may leave local storage intact. Remove both types if you want to reset the remembered choice completely. The prompt can appear again after the local preference is removed. Clearing all website data may also remove preferences for unrelated sites, so use the site-specific option where available.

Private browsing, browser extensions or settings that block storage can prevent your answer from persisting. You may then see the panel again on another page or visit. The editorial content remains readable and ordinary navigation links remain usable. A private window may discard its saved choices when the private session ends.

5. Policy updates

This policy takes effect on 19 October 2026. We review it when the preference mechanism or storage practices change. Before introducing additional storage, we will update the inventory to explain its provider, purpose and duration, and seek consent where required.

The effective date identifies the current version. Check this page when reviewing a new preference request. Nothing in this policy limits privacy rights or other protections available to you under applicable Australian law.
